The Pumice stone is a volcanic rock that has been formed from solidified lava. They are typically created when lava and water are mixed then rapidly ejected from a volcano. This unusual formation is due to the simultaneous actions of rapid cooling and rapid depressurization. The depressurization creates bubbles, which makes the rock's texture quite unique. Pumice stones are therefore one hundred percent natural.

Pumice stones are often used in beauty salons during the pedicure process to remove dry and excess skin from the bottom of the foot as well as calluses. IIt was also used in ancient Greek and Roman times to remove the excess hair that remains under the very first layer of the skin.
