(jar 1 Kg )

Labneh or goat cheese is concentrated Middle Eastern yogurt. Our homemade labneh balls are hand-shaped into little balls and preserved in a jar with some extra-virgin olive oil.

This recipe is consumed every day in traditional Lebanese homes, with olive oil, scooped up with a small piece of pita bread and some olives or zaatar or small pieces of tomatoes and cucumber.

If you open a jar of the preserved cheese, it is a good idea to keep it in the fridge until it is all consumed.

There are so many ways to eat Labneh balls!

- Cover individual balls with zaatar and place a tooth pick on each ball and serve!

- Cover it with fig jam for a sweet and sour taste.

- You can also eat it with toasted pine nuts and dried apricots.

In case you're wondering what to do with the leftover oil, use it to dress some boiled pasta dish or when sauteeing some shrimp or chicken.
Use a bit of it in salad dressings. You can also try adding some balsamic vinegar and using it as a dip for crusty bread.
