Rock candy, also known as rock sugar is sugar that has crystalized into large crystals.

Candied sugar has its origins in India and Iran. It has several different names in India among which are Panakarkandu or Kalkandu (kal - rock, kandu - candy). The Persian word for rock candy is "nabaat". We call it Sukkar Nabaat in Arabic.

 

 

Tips

 

Serve rock candy the classy way. Dissolve it in hot tea or crush it and add it to cakes or breads for a crunchy feel.
